That technology (along with a better trained soldier) is a main reason why the kill ratio for the U.S. vs. "the enemy" (whomever they may be) is so much greater.

But now remember... I truly love AK's. I value their reliability just like I do in my Glocks.

So..precision guided munitions, infrared targeting, bombs that drops more bombs and Helicopter gunships aren't the reason?
We haven't fought a modern army in half a century... wanna avoid an 5.56 AR, hide behind a wall, wanna avoid a 7.62? Hide behind some armor steel.

lost all interest in the 7.62x39. I still have a ton of 5.45x39 but I also own an AR in that caliber. Perhaps the 7.62x39 will spark my interest again one day. For now though, I am done with it.

No... I said it was "a main reason"... not the only reason. You're taking my statement out of the context of this thread.
That is not what I'm referring to. I'm specificaly talking about mano y mano, soldier vs. jihadi gunfights.

For example, the incident in Mogadishu, Somalia. Particularly Mstr. Sgt.Randy Shugart & Sgt. 1st Class Gary Gordon... some of the bravest men to wear a uniform in my opinion.

They along with the Rangers & other 1SFOD-D soldiers wreacked havoc upon the men of Aidid and other Somalis... mainly using rifles w/ rail mounted optics.

I've seen pics of Russians in Crimea with AR-10's/dpms style rifles instead of com bloc sniper rifles which I found interesting, but also still many Russian made precision rifles too.
