Squirrel hunting for a beginner?

1) Buy one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leigh...eywords=Howard+Leight+by+Honeywell+ImpactLook .
2) Look for acorns.
3) Sit somewhere.
4) Light up a cigar (optional).
5) Turn that thing on, turn the power/volume to the maximum and wait. You will hear a squirrel 50 yards away as soon as it hits the ground and shuffles the leaves around.

Best at sunrise or sunset, depending on the day. It works for armadillos as well :D.

Some good info in the above posts. Something I like to do is not take the first shot opportunity I get. I wait until there are a few on the ground before I take a shot. Increases the likelihood of filling the pot with enough to keep the dumplings' company.

Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for all the advice from everyone who responded to this post.

I think I'm going to keep searching for someone to go with and if I have to go alone I'll wait until winter.
