I'm looking to get into this so if anyone knows were I can start without ordering stuff off the net that would be swell

Also if anyone uses stainless in or around gwinnett can I toss you a few bucks to process some brass for me?

I haven't seen anything in local stores. it's a niche of a niche (reloaders who use stainless) and until recently it was all put together with odds and ends (i.e. you dont just call Dillon and say "hey I was the stainless tumbler kit"). You need to find a tumbler that works first, usually custom made or Thumbler, then you need to find pins which aren't available locally in most cases. I have seen Thumler tumblers at some of the local Hobby Shops (Hobby Town?) but don't remember what model (they are mainly designed to tumble rocks) and the prices seemed high ($200).

Frankford Arsenal is coming out with a new stainless tumbling kit but they aren't available yet. That will be the first stainless "kit" that will be easily available to most shops and reloaders. It won't be cheap but it looks good. actually it looks like they ahve released a price, about $230 retail. But I've heard they won't be available till maybe mid year???

Is that stuff any good for cleaning, or just polishing?

yes it's great for cleaning and polishing. I put together a setup as I reload some older calibers and came across some brass that was tarnished enough that tumbling alone wasn't going to cut it. the SS pins do wonders for cleaning up brass cases. like new or better IMHO.

here's my thread on getting into it a year or two ago:

Wow, those results are amazing. I'm set to start reloading soon and am looking for an "economical" way to clean my once-fired brass. For now, it's just 9mm and .45 Auto loads. I'm already several hundred $$ in without a tumbler and media, and I don't know if I will end up sticking with it, so before I invest more, I want to cut my teeth with just a couple hundred rounds. Any suggestions on a simple cleaning method?
