None of us know how long this will last and if it does last a while, how bad it will be. China, who is producing many of our everyday products and now we may be facing shortages of those products, we need to think of our food sources the same way and maybe start a garden.
You don't need much room at all, in fact, many people plant veggies in their flower beds. If you have a little bit of space you could prepare a small garden in your backyard, say a 10x12 or larger. With the right care and planting, lots of food can be grown in that space. Or maybe a small bed here and there as long as it gets enough sunlight.
You don't have to own a tractor or even a tiller but maybe you could rent one. Lots of folks "plow" their gardens with shovels and "turning" or "digging" forks. Youtube is your friend. This would be pretty labor intensive the first year but much easier in the future.
Don't think you CAN'T can't do it!! A few veggies can make a difference on eating or not.
I like to plan for the WORST and hope for the best for we really don't know what lies ahead and rather to depend on someone far away that I don't know, I depend on me and God.
Go online NOW and buy seeds. Preferably non GMO seeds or heirloom seeds and save seeds for next year.
