Sunroof/Moonroof Yes Or No?

Just curious, do you like or prefer a sunroof/moonroof in a vehicle?


For me, I don’t get it. I literally have never used one in all the vehicles I have owned and they are all just another thing that will guarantee leakage.

I’ve enjoyed them in most of my vehicles and didn’t have any issues.

Now I just take the freedom panels off of my Jeep and turn the heat on my feet

Have one on my current 9 year old vehicle. Only time utilized was when I was test driving to be sure it functioned. Thanks.

Just think of them as another place that your car can leak. They also remove about 1.5-2" of headroom for the mechanism and the panel. They came in a couple of our vehicles due to the trim package we ordered. I wouldn't pay extra for one and would never have one dealer installed.

I've only had one and basically one of the few things I liked about that minivan.. Spring and fall were and almost always opened with a good road trip through the GA mountains during summer.

My last 4 trucks had them. I like them and I use them in the spring or fall. Only had one leak and it was because the drain tubes were plugged and it was an easy self fix!

What I mean when I said I don’t get it is that I can’t think of any vehicle I’ve had over the last 15 or 20 years that didn’t have one and I’ve had several vehicles ranging from sports cars to sedan and coupes. It’s like they feel like they have to put it in every single car. I replaced the seal six months ago on my car and now it is split again.

Yeah I like them. Some of the fun of a convertible without the drama.

I like on nice days to leave all the windows and sunroof open. Really blasts out dust and debris at highway speeds.

I really haven’t used mine at night but that would be a much better idea. The main thing I don’t like about them besides fixing them is the sun shining on my head lol.
