I speak from a position of experience on MULTIPLE topics within this thread, both good and bad.

Can these things mess you up? Absolutely, there are always exceptions. But if (hypothetically) you walk into a middle school and ask the male population in said school about which teachers they thought were attractive, the vast majority would a list already in their head and would leap at the opportunity to live out their fantasies.

The internet is both a blessing and a curse. Most kids (especially boys) have already watched porn by the time they hit 13 (and a lot have already hit a double).

Many are spanking the monkey at 13 and would kill for the action this kid got. If it went on for three years, he obviously wasn’t hating it. I was 12 when an older girl introduced me to fun and games, Then her family went home from vacation. Sad day, indeed.

Obviously the number is not going to apply to every person as individuals mature differently. But if I had to pick a number, I'm comfortable with anything north of 16.

You are talking about a legal definition. Laws are written by our elected legislative bodies. I have no desire to dictate my moral beliefs by force to society. Each state's legislative body defines the age of consent with the approval of the electorate.

For my children, there is no age. I would wish for them to wait until marriage. I know I wish I had.

My personal opinion with total honestly, completely removing my moral and ethical beliefs from the discussion, I would say 16 so long as the other party engaged in the sexual act is over a certain age, or in a position of authority. If either party is over the age of 19 or in a position of authority over the other, then 18.

As far as having "Full mental capacity" as you put it, I don't believe most men have the "full mental capacity" to fully understand the consequences of their actions until at least 25. I don't however believe that is the government's job to define or enforce. If I am honest, I didn't mature into an adult until around age 28.

at 14 I absolutely was capable to consent, capable at 13 as this boy was as well. You are focusing on the wrong thing. The isuse was he consented to having sexual relations with a 29 year old woman at 13. I am not suggesting he did anything wrong, kuddos to him for having game. The 29 year old woman however is a pedophile, and should be put to death.

While I say "kuddos to him for having game" I am under no disillusion that the event won't drastically affect this boys mental health for the rest of his life.

I should add, that there is a huge difference between "being capable of consent" and having matured and developed enough to make a good decision when choosing whether to consent or not.

I knew of at least three girls when I was growing up who started having sex at 12. A couple with much older men. By the time they were 14, they were hosting donkey roasts.
And this was on a small island with a winter population of about 1200 total.
