You're definitely in the right place for info on that site. The exact formulas for what the Finns used on their rifles has never been determined and remains a subject of much debate. If the finish is very glossy, similar to a polyurethane or Russian lacquer, it's almost certainly not original, but some rifles do have a shinier appearance than others.
