Striper are finally hitting big baits on flat lines, very exciting time of the year!

Good job! Nice to hear they are starting to do their winter thing. We tried dragging trout around Carters for half the day on Saturday with no luck. Thankfully the Spots kept us from getting completely skunked.

Nice! :thumb: Congrats!

Lake Lanier?

Flatline? Live bait, on a balloon? Or top water lures? It's been a few years since I have done any fishing.

Yessir Lake Lanier, all Flat line on Gizzards, for some reason the Trout and Herring aren't producing as well as the Gizzards. Going to head back out Friday and Saturday to see if we can get the giant we are looking for.

I have never fished Carters but I have heard good things, hopefully when the weather starts to stabilize the bite will get better for you.

Unfortunately, the introduction of alweifes on Carters has really changed the Striper fishing. It's been getting harder for us to hook one using Trout for the last 3 years and it just gets worse each year. They appear to have keyed in on Alewifes now, and Alewifes are usually DEEP except for a brief period in the Spring when they spawn all over the lake.

I'm not a big fan of throwing a cast net in the winter, but it looks I might have to. UGH! I dunno, maybe we should start hitting Weiss again in the winter, but that's a long arse drive - lol.

First World problems!

Have you thought about using a Sabiki rig to try and catch some, from what I have read it works but you have to be on top of the bait and pretty much vertical jig the Sabiki. If that works you won't have to throw that damn cast net lol
