The Gun Box, what do you think?

A "Fail Safe" has been implemented into the GunBox. A small safety screw can be removed using a tool which will manually open the GunBox in the "rare"event the electronics malfunction. For an added measure of security, the screw can be removed and inserted from the inside of the GunBox, rendering the unit inaccessible. With the screw in this position, and in the rare event of an electronic failure, the GunBox must be drilled out in order to gain access.

so all you need to get into it is a screwdriver?

biometric = cool
rfid = cool if it was embedded in your skin, but then we'd have a whole nutha level of paranoia to deal with. :tinfoil3:

either way, i'd want to bolt it down somehow.

I like these:

oh.. I forgot about these. these come in Biometeric too... I wonder if a FS gun with light would fit though

If somebody breaks into your home while your gone, they steal your nightstand gun. Or, they steal your nightstand gun and fancy box, and break into it later.

We don't have kids, so I'm looking at it from my perspective, but I don't see where I really gain at all having one of those.

Kids changes the equation.

3 year old doesn't understand what a loaded gun is, and he is strong enough to pull the trigger My guns are either locked away, or on me.

I think this is just an good way to keep a firearm away from a young kids, but keep it accessible. Not going to stop a thief.

This is not meant to be a gun safe. It's meant to provide quick access to a pistol and prevent kids from gaining access. Taking the screw out is harder than it is to pick the tubular lock on almost all drawer/quick access safes. That being said, I'm a big fan of taking the gun out of a real gun safe and putting it on the night stand/carrying it and putting it back in the gun safe when not carrying or sleeping. Seems like too many people are too lazy to open and close a real gun safe, which is shameful.

I think it has merit in certain conditions such as small kids where your nightstand gun is different than your everyday carry. It looks like it has GPS tracking in case of theft. I will wait for GAGunguys review.

So, the wife thought it looked cool, and she doesnt use the nightstand safe I bought her cause its got a keypad that she doesnt think she can get open quickly in the dark.

I ordered it on the 9th and they charged my card on the 10th. I got an order confirmation, but no shipping confirmation, no tracking number.

Today I called, cant get a real person on the phone, its a recording of how busy they are..check the website for questions. blah..blah..blah.

Sent an email to customer service, no response yet.

So far, not impressed with their customer service. MC/Visa don't allow a retailer to bill before they ship, and I don't think its shipped.

Not cool. Not impressed so far.

Any way to have the RFID chip surgically implanted under the skin so as to not have to keep up with a wrist band? Or have existing chips programmed to operate the unit? Lol...kinda.
