Thoughts on Marriage.

47 years next January, and I knew the day we met I would marry that girl.

My father saw my mom working at the rubber plant here in Virginia about 18 minutes from where I live now. He told his friend on the job " I am going to marry that woman. ". Sure enough he married her ( my mother obviously) and they stayed with each other until my father died. She wasn't very far behind him. Even though my mother was overbearing and abusive to me she held our family together for all those years.

What’s funny is that my wife and I weren’t Christians when we met, but I fell for her the moment I saw her for the first time.

We came to faith in Christ less than a year later and were baptized. We, along with our daughter, all share a spiritual rebirth month and baptism month.

Now, my wife is a pastor’s wife and I’m a pastor. Go figure!
WOW!!
God is good ALL the time, brother!!!

I met mine at a softball game, went home and called my best friend and told him I just met the girl I’m gonna marry. He said I’d lost my damn mind but six and a half months later he was best man at our wedding.
My parents were married & divorced 12 times between the two of em’, I wasn’t about to live that life or put my kids through that mess either. It hasn’t been easy by any means but it’s working for us. She even tried to run me off when she was diagnosed with MS but I’m just too damn stubborn to give up. lol!

Sorry for the troubles. Glad you saw your parents faults on that
