Type 2 Diabetic doing Intermittent fasting

Did you know you can have a healthy plate of food in front of you and have different blood sugar readings depending on what order you eat the food? Yep. I’ve tried it both ways and it works. What order you say? Don’t you just eat it all together? No. You don’t if you have blood sugar issues. It goes like this…fiber then protein then carbs. I have found that for the fiber, cruciferous veggies like cabbage, brussels, collards asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. for the protein, lean meats are best or some like plant based proteins like beans, lentils, hummus, chick peas and hemp hearts. Last the carbs, potatoes (reg and sweet) squash, etc. I can eat all three together or in the wrong order and my blood sugar will always be higher 2 hours after eating than when I eat in that order. (F-P-C)

This looks to be a great thread....I hope we all can learn from posts here......
to continue with the kidney's.....doctor, as well as readings(on the net) seem to indicate that we need to drink a couple quarts of water/liquid a day....which is somewhat interesting to me, as I have NEVER seen a single person in my family EVER drink water like that....in fact I do not believe I ever saw my grandmother drink a single glass of water....BUT here we are today....is it correct, or not.....doctor, and the web will say yes.....I'm skeptical, however I am TRYING to drink that much......It's hard!!!
does anybody remember taking a water container to school....I don't....AND I'm fairly sure, back then, they would not have been allowed.....today, all my grandchildren take their water bottles to school.....go figure

So your Muslim? ☪️
is it possible to have a thread that might offer other folks positive information for what others have/are going through, or, have done to help themselves, or ideas that MIGHT be helpful for others......
WITHOUT SOME FOLKS CRANKING OFF ON THE KEYBOARD??? Jesus man....

Watched some of this last week. Its long but interesting. Fasting does more than you would believe. Your body has the ability of healing itself. Even against cancer. And its free which is why you wont hear it broadcasted.

Had this book delivered this week. I’ll update once Ive read it. Ive done intermittent fasting for several years. Planning to work my way towards a 21 day in the next several months.
Water Fasting: The Complete Guide... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096TTR6R5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

So you mentioned it a few times...Keto. I cut out carbs 5 years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. The "food pyramid" is completely upside down.
What do you sub for carbs? Carbs are the absolute hardest thing for me to cut out, I starve myself of them and then find myself scarfing them down later on...

Meat. Select nuts. Berries. You wont do it until you will yourself to do it. Your mind has to be made up. Poor health will help you do that.

Let me start with the usual" I am not a Docter". with that being said I have been fasting for 2 years. My first fast was 94 hours. I then started OMAD(One Meal a Day). I've lost 70 pounds and kept it off.
My typical week is 2 meals on Sunday. Then a 24 or 48 hour fast Then omad the rest of the week. Once every 3 or 4 months a do a long fast. My longest was 120 hours(5 days). I feel great and it has worked well for me.

do you exercise??
Do you go to the gym, and do any cardo work during these times of fasting??

Yes. I work out pretty hard. Mon, Wed, Fri = walk/ruck then straight into cross fit type workout early in the morning. Gym=4-5 days a week. Also do a weighted walk 2-4 miles a day as well.
