Unconsious Alone While Armed

Let's say you are armed on a busy day in Wal-Mart and you slipped and fell.. You are now unconscious... The paramedics arrive..

What happens to your firearm? If the paramedics saw that you were armed, what would they do? Would they have a Police Officer secure it?

I've always wondered this.

We've got a few paramedics on here that could answer this.. but yeah, I'd say probably secured by police at the scene.

I'm prior Firefighter/EMT and Police Officer and y'all are correct. PD will secure your firearm. Most likely when they make contact with family or whomever related at the hospital they'll release it to them... But if nobody is at the hospital/no family they place it in "safe keeping" at their headquarters until the owner can recover it
