I'm sure you know you need to get insurance, but I would also try speaking with the billing office about financial assistance. They may give you a reduction in your bill based on your household income.

Update: I am at home healing. Doctors told me that this will take a while to heal. Sometimes the pain is unbearable but mostly tolerable. Just walking can be interesting at times. I have never been in this type of situation before. I have always been a go getter type of guy. I am limited on what I can do right now.
At the hospital, I was also suffering from congestive heart failure which is why they put in intensive care. I am currently taking 2 heart meds as well as 5 others to get better.
I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. I am getting better every day. Below is a picture of what the top of my leg looks like. The back of my leg looks bad also.
