They have been testing that round for a while now. I saw a show on military marksmanship and they mentioned that round and the 416 as well. Hell that's been a ways back though.

This is just Socom for a dmr rifle right now not branch wide rifle replacement. Wouldn't expect surplus ammo to be that abundant.

I would think since more than likely Lake City would supplying the ammo the over run we would see. There would have to be a surplus in the future at some point.

Right, but I don't think it will be as cheap or abundant as people think it will be.

Best friends father has worked at Lake City for over 30 years, from what I’ve heard I would not to count on it for the time being. If memory serves, they offer employees cost ammo or very close twice a year so I’ll jump on it if and when they ever do.
