Now dead guy continued his mouthing/attack even after shooter unholstered his weapon. He knew it was coming. Shooter should have been able to beat a drunk down with no problem and not fired a shot. Was he required to do that? Nope. Bad situation with bad outcome.

Reading what some of yall have posted really has me doubting some of you guys. Really? Beat his ass? Uh, the drunk guy had 2-3 inches and at least 40 pounds on him. So anybody that has a shaved head and sunglasses is a Yeager wanna be? Im just making sure. Was it b\c he was OCing? Also, the whole damn OC thing is a ODT fad like colored glock along with all of the .40 cal hate.

The shooter waited until he was cornered , with multi weapons around for the attacker to grab and assault him with, before he shot the guy. Why in the fucv would you engage an intoxicated person and possible allow them to overpower you and gain control of your weapon?

Yes maybe he should have waited till the man was pulling out to record his plate info. Or walked away. But he didnt, and i believe he handled it in the best way possible. Hindsight is 20/20. If he ended up attacking the clerk or someone else in the store, you asshats would be jumping on the guy OCing for not stopping the guy by any means.

What Jimi said - "Bubba" was trying to get a guy who was a hazard on the roads plate# to call it in - obviously didnt want a confrontation and the dude saw him looking at his plate. He showed a ton of restraint and the dude would have been going after him even if he had a toupee, a suit jacket covering his bald head and raybans instead of oakleys. "Beat his ass" means engage someone and give them an opportunity to take your weapon. That is not a sound decision - he literally got backed into a corner.
We got a lot of tactically ninjariffic undercover operators in this thread. Was 100% justified and many of you sound like you should get off the trader and save your money to donate to the Clinton campaign.

Or he couldn't have got his plate # and then the drunk drives off DUI and runs into someone's family member/members on here and kills them and then everybody on here is like why didn't he shoot the drunk. Then he wouldn't have ran into that car full of kids and killed them.

You shoot someone when you fear for your life. If this guy feared for his life then so be it I guess. Maybe he'd never been in an altercation before, who knows. Personally there is no way in hell I would have shot this guy, but thats just me and I'm a whole lot smaller than the shooter in this video.

I am 6'1'' 240 and if someone came after me being fully aware that I was armed I would assume malicious intent. People are ignoring that this volatile drunk mother****er was about to get in a vehicle and drive. The police were already called-but he was leaving. Is it really "not your problem" that theres a good chance this moron is going to speed off and hurt someone? Having a sense of civic duty by being able to give the authorities his plate is not being a "wannabe cop"- its being a decent human being.

at what point WOULD you have shot him? when he grabbed a bottle? when he reached for your weapon? to those who only carry concealed - at what point do you make him aware that you are armed - after round three of your imaginary fisticuffs- that ****er tried to keep coming AFTER he was shot. Is the third time he stomps on your head the time to fear for your life? I am polite and non-confrontational in public- carry mostly concealed but open if my pants are tight(see the 240 comment above) or if I damn well feel like it. I dont have a bald head and punisher tshirt - I am equally ridiculous looking with long hair and a scruffy beard - kinda like fat russel crowe mixed with hacksaw jim duggan with a little bit of moses.

I honestly dont know what I'd have done but I thought the man handled himself well- making fun of the way he's dressed is sophomoric. His decision to exercise a constitutional right being questioned on this sight is laughable. Folks stating that the aggressor was a veteran and a father....You dont have to be a good person to volunteer to shoot people for money or knock up your missus.
