I can't believe you'd have any insulation factor out of it. But yes, it's great stuff. I've seen moss on it and still not hurt it. If I had to use siding, it's what I'd use. As far as lasting, I have no real idea. According to the net, it may last a little longer than other quality siding. My last house was cedar. Aside from replacing certain pieces on a chimney every 10-15yrs, seemed good to go. The house was @ 36yrs old when we moved. Current home is brick. It's near 60yrs old and good to go. Only issue with brick Is having a good foundation under it due to the weight. As long as it's installed correctly to begin withIs concrete lap-board siding still a thing? Mine’s held up 25+ year and insulates great
