Virginia woman admits buying 31 handguns in two weeks





A Manassas woman pleaded guilty to violating federal firearms laws after buying 31 handguns over a two-week span at three Virginia gun shows.

Kimberly Dinkins, 41, pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court in Alexandria to dealing firearms without a license. She faces up to five years in prison.

Court records show that Dinkins resold all of the guns for a profit.

Federal law does not require a person to register as a firearms dealer for occasional private gun sales, but it does require a dealer's license if a person devotes significant time and energy to the sale of firearms with a primary goal of making a profit.

A Virginia law limiting individuals to one handgun purchase per month was repealed last year.

The laws on this one are purposely very vague. They can choose who to prosecute and who not to fool with. I would prefer a more specific definition behind these laws, but there really isn't one. I wish they would choose a specific number of sales in a particular time period or some kind of limit, but there isn't one-as far as I know.

Yeah 31 in two weeks seems a little crazy. She wasn't worried about WHO was buying. She was just worried WHAT they would pay. Kinda irresponsible I say! IMHO.

So she basically did the same thing Eric Holder did? At least they went to US citizens, imagine if she gave them to Mexican drug cartel members, she would be locked away for years.

The wannabe dealers everywhere think they have nothing to worry about since they think no one is watching.........they don't have to bust your door own to catch you in the act.....her biggest mistake was she probably bought them from dealers and resold them(record of purchase) or she could have had so many ads posted everywhere that it got a red flag flying for anyone watching. People that are doing this think they are free and clear on a technicality.....wrong. Even if you win in court, you go broke defending yourself. Even people on here that have multiple gun transactions in a very short period of time with buying and selling are probably having a potential case built against them and aren't even aware until that knock on the door. They don't call you or send you a letter telling you they are investigating you......

She wouldn't have had any problem if she had a BOS for each gun.....LOL
