Own a Yamaha Warrior (not a learners bike) and learned on a VStar 650. Best advice I can give you is get a Miata and enjoy yourself. After I got my Miata, bikes didn't get much love. Beside a top and A/C are appreciated when you are sitting in traffic for a long time in July. If you want to learn, take the MSF classes. Buy a FULL face helmet, good armored riding jacket, gloves, good boots (I like steel toes), and maybe a pair of riding pants. Plan of the worst and hope for the best because people will cut you off and pretend you don't exist on the road.

I learned on one like this in 1965. Bought it from a pawn shop for a $112.00 that my Grandma help me get. 12 years old ...ain’t skeered

Take a class. And don't start with a big heavy bike, start with something smaller.

Wrong start with a big heavy bike. They ride better they turn better they are way more stable going down the road and at slower speeds.
