Well I worked at grants in Dalton in the late 90's and I have had plenty of experience with firearms since I could walk. Around 2001 I asked Kevin at grants to find me a sw99 compact in 40 cal. A week later I went back and he was only able to find a 9mm in the time frame I wanted but I picked it up anyways. A couple days later I called the BB and luck they had a 40. I told to hold it and what I had and that I wanted to trade, they said sure. So off I go. I placed the gun, case and all on the counter and explained I had NOT FIRED the gun or even loaded a mag and he said his manager would look it over so into the back it goes.He comes out and offers a 350$ trade on a 498$ brand new gun with the reason that the gun has been fired. No crap, at the factory it was I explained. So back to Dalton I went where Kevin Grant got the one I wanted and swapped EVEN! I haven't bought a gun from BB since because they are inexperienced.

could probably post a bad experience with most gun shops.. I personally have never had a bad experience at BB but Adventure outdoors......thats another story, those people truly suck...

I've been shopping at BB since 1992 at the old store and used to be very pleased with the prices/people, etc. We moved back to the Jasper area a couple of years ago and I bought a rifle there....got a good deal at the time, but everything is overpriced now and the older man that works back in the gun department doesn't seem to know much. I won't be giving them any new business unless it's something I need right away and can't find anywhere else. There's just too many other places to purchase with better selections and prices to go there. They've lost the friendly mom & pop atmosphere and they've bumped their heads when it comes to pricing. They've even opened some kind of thrift/consignment shop inside the building and cheapened the place even more. Sorry you had a problem but you obviously have a great wife! :)

To answer a matter before hearing both sides is considered foolish. I have had the same experiences at both businesses; good and bad. It's usually the personnel they hire and that is true everywhere. If you have a complaint take it to management; its their job to get to the bottom of unresolved issues. Complaining is the fruit of ingratitude; those who are thankful seldom complain and those who complain are seldom thankful. I'll not respond to negative comments nor enter into a debate regarding this issue. Have a very Happy and prosoerous New Year is my prayer. Sincerely, Stan Banther

I don't frequently go there, but the few times I have walked in and browsed, I've never been impressed by their prices, nor the "holier than thou" attitude from the guys behind the counter

This ^^^^^^ If im going to spend hundreds of dollars in your store I expect to at least be treated like its appreciated while im getting screwed by your high prices.

BB was a great place like adventure outdoors 20 years ago. They are both mirror images of bass pro shops. They have removed any reason for me to travel to shop at either one. If I'm local and not looking for a great deal or personal service,I would buy at either place. It is the era of the MEGA store.
