Watched a military officer in BDUs get turned away from a firearms purchase today even though he had his orders and such.

bull. If he is stationed and has a license with matching addresses on it. If he has his home state License he would have to shadow proof of residency. Unless something changed since I have retired.

I got out end of '21. Only thing I ever needed was my orders and CAC card and/or d.l. (didn't need to be state d.l either). Orders always worked.
Maybe the FFL made a mistake.

Same here. Military with a copy of orders is GTG. Long guns can be sold to anyone over 18 from any state as long as it doesn't violate any/either state laws.
