just so you all know..you dont want to sto.re your bottles water and clean water supplies in a warm place like the attic or the trunk of your car for long periods of time. The plastic will permeate carcenegens into the water which is harmful to drink.

This is why I use stainless steel water bottles.

most folks have a thing of bleach in the house, a COUPLE TINY DROPS will purify drinking water

First off, bleach is a good water treatment option, but boiling is the gold standard. Second thing -- do some research on the quantity of bleach needed for disinfection. Here's an emergency disinfection link from EPA:

You need to remember that there are a lot of ways for water to be contaminated other than by bacteria and parasites.

Boiling the water is helpful. If any of your grandparents were into making moonshine, distillation is even better (but not easy in a crisis) because distillation will get all of the biological, particulate, inorganic chemical and a lot of the organic chemical contaminants out if you do it right.

The bad news is that running a distillation setup requires some preparation, equipment and isn't really portable. And it needs fuel.

I have the calcium hypochlorite lab grade powder. Doesnot degrade as fast as liquid bleach over time
