Just made my short list of elk rifles.

They offer it in .280 Ackley Improved, which is one of the calibers on my list.

Sub-MOA guarantee, 7.5lbs, and an MSRP of $1200. That is about half the cost I had allotted myself for this rifle.

Comes with a TriggerTech Field trigger. Tool-less bolt disassembly.

I am big fan of 280AI - I used it for multiple mule deer and antelope. Hunting buddies borrowed it and harvested whitetail, mule deer, and antelope. It is a great hunting cartridge.

I’ve owned .280’s, and had a .338-06AI, but never a .280AI. It’s been said that the .280 Remington was the cartridge that benefited most from the AI upgrade.

Its right in the middle of hunting cartridges - not too big, not too small, just right. If you look at the articles comparing the various "7mm's" - it is amazing how efficient 280AI at pushing 140s to 160s down range.

Easy button if you want to use factory ammo is Hornady Precision Hunter with the 162 ELDX. Handloading opens up a world of opportunities with Hammers, Sciroccos, and so on.

I was looking at that load, and the Federal 155grn Terminal Ascent. Eventually I’ll be handloading for it.

That's around the same price as the Nosler ammo for .280AI.
Nosler pricing is insane. Watch the Nosler Pro Shop for "blems". I have multiple boxes of Nosler factory 280AI in 140 Ballistic Tips and 140 E Tips (solid copper) that I got off their "blem" sales. Also, some "blem" 280AI brass. Mil/LE discount opportunity too

Before I was handloading .338-06AI, I was buying Nosler Custom Ammo. Bought enough to shoot the gun a bit, and build up a decent supply of nice brass for reloading.
