Weller Bourbon

I visited Buffalo Trace last year where Weller is made. Weller 12 is almost non existent now. Pappy (also made at Buffalo Trace) is easier to find (but harder to pay for!) than Weller 12. Pappy is good but wasted on me. 100.00 per shot or more is crazy to me unless you're paying!

Buffalo Trace seems like the easiest to find and I like it well enough. Not expensive either.

We had a ball. Highly recommend it. We did two days. Mint julep tour. Boys trip for sure. Stayed downtown Louisville.

Scored 2 handles today for 60.00. I would tell you where....but I'm not.

There was a ton down in Peachtree City at the liquor store next to shell station. I picked one up.

For those not in the "know", is Weller basically a lesser known bourbon that is high-quality/low cost because people don't know about it? I am obviously not a Connoisseur but as I mentioned earlier 1792 seemed to be a "secret" but is now as expensive or more than the usual suspects.

I didn't know much about WL Weller until I toured the Buffalo Trace distillery. It's amazing how many different bourbons and ryes they make including the elusive Blantons and Pappy van winkle. In fact the Weller 12 which no one can find is called the poor man's pappy. Weller special reserve is hard to find but when you do it's at least very affordable and very good...at least to me.

Yes Weller 12 is really nice. So is the antique. Never tried Special Reserve, but it is something I'd love to try.
Speaking of Buffalo Trace, how long ago did they buy Pappy? I can't remember but I'm sure with their processing ability they would increase production just a little bit. But then again it is 10 years for the cheapest of the pappy's and on from there.
