Went to the honey hole today and caught these, what are they ?

went to my favorite honey hole today caught some bass and a whole bunch of these , we have never caught any of these before. kinda look like some kind of pike or gar but the nose is too short for gar and pike is unusual around NE GA or atleast i thought, and yes they have teeth , and yes i had a hell of a grip on it , those mofo were stout

That is AWSOME! Great catch. Walleys are soem good eatin fish from what I hear

That is a northern pike.

You can tell by the flat beak full of teeth, and the dorsal fin being so far back

we fish in a little swamp that's not more than 3 1/2 feet deep at the deepest spot ,park pretty much on the edge of a paved road, have to tote the jon boat thru the woods 200 yrds but it's a hell of a place full of those , got some pretty good bass in it too but i haven't never caught any of these things before, caught 8 of them today , too be small a 10-12 inch fish like that fights like a 6 lb bass

I grew up on Lake Erie as a kid. Wait until you get a hold of one 30+ inches. Fun times

i bet , that looks like fun . That first 1 i caught today i thought was for sure some 6-7 lb bucket mouth , he rolled up next to the surface i was like WTF is that lol

If you get one of legal size, they are real good eating.

Try a big fat live minnow. They tear up live bait

what would be legal size and if i'm on private property would any size would be legal?
