What’s your cure for kidney stones

ER gave me morphine and it helped.
My wife asked me stupid crazy questions while on it....as if it was my first rodeo....

BTW when I went I had no idea what was killing me. I thought I had major stoppage or I'd ruptured something. Worst pain I'd ever felt for sure.

Whatever you do, DON'T drink cranberry juice. Most people lean on that for bladder infections but it has the reverse effect on kidney stones as it contributes to the oxellate build up of the stone(s). Drink a lot of water. Try for a gallon a day.

I had them last year and rarely drink anything but water anymore. I have a high pain tolerance but two weeks to pass one stone and another week to pass the other had me wanting to jump in front of a moving car. Worst pain I had ever had.

The only thing that helped the pain was when I was at the hospital, because this was a first for me, was a dose of Dilaudid. I could finally rest a little bit. At home all that would help is a hot shower pointed at my back. I think I took 6-10 showers a day during that time.

Wish you the best. Hope it passes soon (pun intended).
This, I have a bottle of Dilaudid at home for just that reason. I drink lemon water all the time and have a prescription for potassium citrate and take 1 per day. Flomax will help open up your urethra to help in passing. I know these things I’ve had 14 stones, and lithotripsy 3 times.

A urethra stricture is bad as I had one of those where they go in thru yeah cut the stricture going in and back out. Wound up putting a titanium stint in. Don’t come out.

Oof man, I mean this when I say bless you. 14 times? I can't even imagine. I still carry a gallon jug of lemon water with me a year later. One was enough for me.

What KOMRAD KOMRAD said. Beer. Already had a scan i presume and they are a "passable size"? If persists seek medical attention. If the ureter becomes blocked and hydronephrosis goes untreated it can lead to failure in the affected kidney. Happened to my Dad with a **** nephrologist. Also for the future cut out foods high in oxalates to hopefully avoid calculus formation

The acid in the lemon water helps to fight buildup on the stones. Lots of different things cause stones and is not a one contributing food or milk as some say. Keep kidneys flushed. I even put lime in my beer.
