What about 5.45x39?

Hey y’all,

I’m a huge fan of the AK74 platform, but for the life of me, I’ve never seen anyone outside of Russian companies load 5.45x39. Where is our source of ammo going to come from? I fear this is going to murder the ‘74 market.

It will still come in don’t worry and even if it completely gets cut off, the business sense to corner an entire caliber will show very quickly over here

May or may not matter though... from what I have seen reported any ammo company 'located' in Russia is being banned.

I don't know if Wolf qualifies as a "Russian' manufacturer since technically they are headquartered in the US, although most of their production is Barnaul and Tula. Wolf doesn't actually make ammo themselves, but simply rebrands other company's products.

It could end up that the Ukraine and Turkey will be the new go to sources for bargain ammo, but that could take a while to spin up.

Say it isn’t so. I own several 74 variants and love my 5.45x39 over 5.56x45 my heart is shattered. Thanks Joe Briben
