What are your steps for field dressing or cleaning a deer?

Like the title says, What steps do you do and in what order? Also, what's a good video for the proper field dressing of deer? I have watched a few and they all seem to have their own way of doing it. Some say gut it before skinning, others say skinning it first will keep the meat free of hair. Some folks swear that they cut from the briskit to the ****ter, some the other way around. Thanks

1.Shoot it..
2.Gut it...(try not to puke)
3.Drag it to the truck and load it in the back.
4..drive to a ice location and buy 3big bags.
5.Ride around to all my buddies houses and show it off to them
6.drive to the deer processor.

7.Pickup my packaged meat the following weekend.

^^^ this The amount of ice depends on how many people your going to show it to. Lmao
 
I live down in Griffin. I killed my first deer 35 years ago and been killing them every year since. Literally hundreds. I would be glad to show/help you learn how to field dress one.. Oh and by the way, you can spilt them right down the spine, take out the backstraps and then the rear quarters and never touch the guts.

Ok, but what exactly do you have to watch out for when gutting it? What do you make sure not to cut/nick etc as to not ruin the meat?
 
1.Shoot it
2.Cut around the but hole and then down about 4", Reach in and remove the bladder.
3.After removing the bladder ,I make my cut to thr breast bone and reach in and remove everything in one pull.
4. I keep a plastic bag with me because I keep the liver as its better than beef and alot more of it.
And carry it back to the truck.
5.Make my pre cuts for skinning, Around the neck ,chest , inside the legs.
6.Then place a rock under the base of the neck and tie off tight with a small rope.
7.Tie the head up in a tree, and the tie the rope that is around the rock to the hitch and drive off.
Skin comes off in one shot, makes for nice pelts too.
8. I dont use a processor because I butcher my own cuts.
9. And then I Eat It.
Now Im hungry!!
