What did you neglect in your preps?

I found a few problems with my preps during this emergency.
We didn’t get hit hard, and I had plenty in my RV, but I’ve let my gasoline stash get low. Many areas close to me will have a week or more without power, and fuel stations are had if not impossible to find or get to before they run out.

I would have lasted 3 days at best.
How are getting your fuel to keep. Today's fuel can go bad in a matter of weeks if not less. What stabilizer are you using?
Moe's Speed Shop said they have 55 gallon drums and gas that are starting to turn in a week or so. That was a while back. Just curious.

My wife had to go to S. C. to take fuel and a Generator to her brother. The one thing I realized was I did not have any waders or even knee high muck boots for walking in flooded areas. Luckily I did not have to, but if did... I would have been up Poop Creek.

I am also rethinking my first aid supplies. Seems a little lacking after some of the things I have heard the last couple of days.
If you get waders get a lightweight set. Those others are just to heavy. I had a set and it was like wearing a led suit. No joke! Spend the extra and save weight and storage space. Ideally the ones with the mesh foot pads. Just a suggestion. I found storage for the heavy pair a huge problem.

I was low on booze but stocked up before the weather got here, so no real issues.

some stuff that went "wrong" was 2 of my put away emergency lanterns were dead and weird batteries. They charged fine before they were put up but completely useless and couldn't charge. They are in the trash. I did have a few ****ty LED battery lanterns from amazon and those were fine with fresh batteries.

Also I had a fully charged golf cart hanging out in the garage and realized I had no way to utilize the energy in there if needed. Getting a small USB port installed soon so I can at least charge phones or lights from it.

same with getting a ryobi inverter. Thankfully I did that a while ago and it's nice being able to use tool battery storage almost wherever you need it.

I have an unreasonable amount of water stored and ways to collect, so wasn't worried about that. Also the small generator is enough to power a small window AC, which seems like a luxury until you lose power in Texas in July. Now I know it's an honest to goodness emergency prep.

Many times, I have used ethanol-free gas in my mowers (the only thing I use for small engines) that has sat there from fall to spring, maybe 3-4 months. No additives and no problems. Other times of the year I am cycling through that gas can pretty regularly.

ETA - I have not had to rebuild a carburetor since making sure ethanol never gets used.
