I'm grabbing my EDC Glock 19. If I'm awoken from a deep sleep and need to defend myself in the middle of the night I can't think of a better gun than the one I carry everyday, shoot the most and am most familiar with. Also got a 12 ga next to the bed.

13 round 9mm pistol is always handy.

But if I have time to go into the gun safe for something, it would probably be either the Mosssberg 500 shotgun loaded with #2 buckshot or a Ruger Mini 14 with a 30 round magazine only loaded with 26 rounds of soft point hunting ammo .
