What is a "large" gun collection?

Let's see, you're gonna "need":
Pocket pistol for carry.
Subcompact for carry when you don't want the bulk of your full-size pistol.
Full-size pistol for the colder months carry.
.22lr pistol for plinking/fun.
.22lr rifle for plinking/fun/varmints.
Mid-sized game rifle for hunting.
Larger game rifle for hunting.
Shotgun for home defense.
Shotgun for hunting.

So, you're up to 9 guns (at a minimum) before you've even started getting guns "just" to have them (i.e. collecting). That's assuming you don't decide to purpose use more rifle calibers and pick rifles for different game and end up "needing" a 30-30, .243, .370, 30-06, and .300 winmag just for hunting game.
