What is the dumbest thing you've seen/heard in a gun shop?

Had a girl shooting beside me at a gun store / range. I thought she was doing a lot of dry fires. Then she ask me to help her see why her gun was not shooting. I checked for a live round and dropped the mag and discovered she had the ammo in backward. She said it was much easier to load that way than the other way.

I think I've met her ^^^.

I'm new to guns and shooting in general, but with my limited knowledge and experience, even I have heard some stupid ****.

My second time in this gun shop, just browsing, a guy comes in and says he is looking for a home defense weapon for his wife. Says she has never held or fired a weapon before. The owner suggests a 22 pistol. The customer says he doesn't think so... although it would be great to teach her on, he is looking for something with more power. The owner promptly takes out the 22's twin brother and says "That's precisely why she should probably have BOTH of these - twice the bullets, twice the power." After the customer realized the guy wasn't joking, he went on to explain that dual wielding under-powered pistols is not what he had in mind for his novice wife's safety.

The owner looked at him square in the eye, takes both pistols off the counter and tells the guy to go stand over buy the door, he'll fire off a few 22 rounds at him and then dare tell him that a 22 is underpowered.

At this point, I stop fiddling around with the M1 Carbine (priced competitively at $1300) and quietly make my exit.

3 guys who work at this store are awesome, the owner is a right bastard.

Lately the stupidest thing I have seen - and it happens most every time I step into a shop - is the customer who dominates the employee's time by rattling on about the current political climate and prospects of a gun ban. It's both sad and comical to watch store employees attempt to extract themselves from the situation.

There are some stores where the employees do that themselves. I won't mention any names especially since one might be a sponsor.
