What is the Quietest 22 ammo

Whats to show? Prime a case, put a pellet in the case mouth, chamber and pull the trigger --
In the past I have made up a steel case to hold the pellet better -- Sort of like cartridge adapters, firing a 32 S&W in a 30/30 or 30/40 adapter --

any specific primers and/or pellets you have good luck with? I've got a #3 Hornet (and a 77/22) as well as a M65 in 218. I'm more likely to try it in the hornets as I have plenty of brass and tend to shoot them more. I usually use Rem 6 1/2 primers for both (occasionally small pistol primers in the hornets for accuracy)....

but great idea! I had been thinking to try to find a fast twist barrel and load up some 77gr SMK's in the hornet with a can but this sounds like more fun for short range.
