What is with the "Must Shoot It Before Buy It" stuff?

Hell, I don't mind if you want to shoot my gun first before buying, sure. You're paying for MY ammo and meeting at a range near MY house and I will need to see the cash FIRST! I have had one deal where I bought a gun, went to fire it, and the bolt kept locking back on every shot in the AR, custom build. Luckily, I've dealt with the seller before, great guy, and he bugged me about fixing it, more than I bugged him about fixing it. There was however a lot of drive time making things right, that could've been prevented had we met at a range and put a few rounds through it. Either way, ended up being a bad buffer, he bought the new part, and we were good to go. There would be some situational things to consider as well. No, you're not taking my Barret .50 to the indoor range to take her for a "joy ride", no you're not going to do a simulated run with my brand new Tavor through some "tactical" setting. I would think that "shooting before you buy" would probably be for "custom builds". How do I know that you know what you're doing when you put it together? Hell, I'd even be happy with letting you shoot your own gun with your own ammo, just to see it function as it's supposed to. Would really suck to pick up a "custom" deal and it starts falling apart as soon as you shoot it and to only never hear from the guy again.
 
Shooting MY gun that YOU wanna buy ain't happening. I will let you do anything as far as a function test, heck take it apart (best know how to put it back together) but until it's in your hands and the deal is complete, you and gonna shoot anything. Sorry, that's just a pet peeve.

This. If you know how to function check a weapon, then a test fire shouldn't be necessary. If you need to shoot it to decide if you like it or not, don't waste my time. If I ever agreed to such a thing and the gun functioned as advertised, you better have cash in hand because you're paying for the gun before your test fire. If it is functional, the sale goes forward. I don't have the time to let people test drive my guns so that they can decide if they like it. That's what the rental case at the range is for.

I suppose, I just like to have good faith in people on here. Never would cross my mind to ask someone, but guess we all have our own thoughts :) Still cant wait to get my HK USP! me and dwaywego worked a deal, thanks again for the help :thumb:
