Not that it's going to change anyone's behavior but, for good reason, it's illegal to kill non-venomous snakes in Georgia.
very sorry that i have upset you.Right? I HATE threads like this. There's not many venomous snakes in GA. Copperhead, a few types of rattlesnakes...those are the ones you'll likely run across, if ever, and they're easy to pick out. The coral snake is easy to distinguish also, but you'll almost never see one. That leaves the cottonmouth, which I agree is a little hard to distinguish from some other snakes but unless your garden is near the water, you're not going to see one of those either.

If you can tell the difference between a crow and a robin, you can identify a venomous snake. All it takes it making a small effort to become familiar with the animals that live in your area.maybe i should of paid attention in science class more? maybe i should of taken a snake identification course?
