What vehicle would you buy to drive 85 miles a day in Atlanta?

Now that's some commitment right there! I do a lot of driving around metro Atlanta and 85 miles is no joke with our traffic.

I drive about 35 one way now. Don’t know a lot of folks in the office that don’t have a similar commute. I’d move further away from Atl if I could!

From 2000 through 2005, I commuted daily from Acworth to Peachtree City and back. I had a Honda Civic. Worked for me. It was a 112 mile round trip.

You're going to have a lot of windshield time. Don't take luxuries for granted. Get something that's comfortable and will make the commute easier. Adaptive cruise control, good sound system, heated and cooled seats. Plenty of legroom and lumbar support.

If the driver and passenger windows aren't at the max legal tinting, get that done. The sun can be merciless when commuting.

I worked with a guy that drove from Blue Ridge to Cartersville. He was on swing shifts on top of that. Said he loved it??

Yeah. Looking for something with better gas mileage. 30-40 mpg is my goal.
One of the well kept secrets used to be Scions. I don't know why Toyota gave up on the brand but they were good to go. My stepfather had the little one called the XA. Not the boxy one but the wedge doorstop looking one. Only gripe I had was that the instrument cluster is in the center of the dash on all of them.
The Pontiac Vibe was another good one that was a Toyota Matrix in disguise. All the Toyota goodness at used Pontiac prices .
The entire family I know at Music Masters in Warner Robins is hardcore Honda. One daughter has an the little 4 door hatch they stopped making about five years ago . But it's got a surprising amount of room to be also shaped like a doorstop. Damn! What's the name of that car?

It was the Honda Fit I was trying to think of a minute ago. Good cars and discontinued recently . So they should have taken a depreciation hit which is good for the next buyer.
