what was for dinner on this cold night?

Box of corn flakes. 1lb of 93/7 ground beef. Box of Pepperidge farms Tahoe cookies. Ritz crackers dipped in hummus. 1 bottle of wine.

I made curry black beans and rice trying to expand my food storage recipes.

With a glazed porkchop and some pepper sauce on the rice it was pretty tasty.
 
Try replacing the rice with Quinoa some time. Better flavor plain and damn good for ya. Yes more expensive but worth the try.

Googled....do you cook it the same as rice/risotto/cous cous.

I have been cooking a lot with cous cous and really enjoy the flavor over rice but buying a 50lb bag will set you back well over $100.

15 minutes on low, covered heat. We still have rice stored but in the mean time it's great stuff and one of the few grains that is alkaline in the body.
