What would you do if some kids pointed an AR15 pellet gun at your wife??

Paint your guns whatever color you wish. Do we need an approved color wheel for guns now? What about toy guns like airsoft that look like real guns? Do we need to mandate that they be painted safety orange as well?

yep. it should be a felony to purposely disguise a real gun like a toy. pictures all over the internetz of seized guns disguised as toy guns.

There are pictures all over the internet of lots of things, doesnt mean its common

Why you wanna give the gov more authority over something so silly?

Nope not advocating any rules or regs, but everyone should recognize it for what it is and the inherent dangers the action and the people that do these actions pose to society.

I don't think too many people would argue that there could potentially be an issue with it, just as there is with painting a water pistol to look like a real gun.

I doubt everyone will even acknowledge the speed limit, let alone a sensible paint scheme for guns.

Maybe the ODT could host an annual 5k to raise awareness for painting guns to look like toy guns. Instead of a color run, it could be a black/brown run...unless that would be construed as racist.

I expect none of yall saying yall don't have a problem with fake guns looking like real ones, or real ones disguised so they look fake, don't complain when someone kills somebody for pointing a fake gun at them.

Why? You can lament the loss of life regardless. I don't need a special permit.

If someone kills a person that points a fake gun painted like a real one at them then that's a horrible tragedy. I don't however think that the .gov needs to create an official color wheel for guns. People are great at breaking hte law and doing stupid **** regardless. There's no reason to create even more laws with grey areas, and loaded with senseless subjectivity just to make people feel better.

I can agree with this 100%.

the only thing I said in regards to real guns was people that purposefully (key word there) disguise them to look like toy guns should be charged with a felony.

Yeah, walk around with a toy gun painted like a real one, don't be surprised when you get shot.

Last summer I had a group of about 4-5 kids (14-17yrs old)walking down the sidewalk while I was mowing. One of the kids pulled out a 1911 plastic gun, all black and pointed it at his friend and pulled the trigger. I was carrying, but it happened so fast I couldn't respond. He stuffed it back in his pants and they scooted down the street. If he would have pointed it at me (and I didn't know it was a toy) I would have shot him. I don't disagree that it's incredibly dangerous, but I don't think a law would have affected this young man's decision to try to impress his friends.
