what you know about a 12 hour day?

Working in healthcare, a 12hr min. day is normal ...

I work three 12 hour shifts, thursday friday saturday, then 4 days off gotta love the bartending life!

Too much work is not worth it it alot of cases. I work 24hrs then Im off for 48hrs. I know many guys that have a SECOND and/or THIRD 24hr shift directly after the first one.

They do not have any kind of relationship with thier families. But they have new cars and big houses filled with nice stuff.


Which would you rather have? Nice new STUFF, or a wife and kid that loves and knows you?

Is that a trick question? What kind of new stuff are we talking about here.

Too many 72 hr straight days and they wont be around to enjoy their belongings. Thats straight up nuts.

My dad used to pull back to back triple shifts at General Motors...he'd come home with salt stains in his shirt from sweat.

I don't think I've ever worked more then 8 hours in a day. Don't plan on breaking the tradition either. Time with my family is more rewarding then any amount of money.

I'm trying to convince my teenage son to be a fireman

The 24 on 48 off is nice
Nice govt insurance and vacation and retirement ....

I've worked 3-5 12s for years with some 24s thrown in there. I don't know if I could ever work 8s again
