whats the best deal youve ever gotten buying a gun?

bought a Ruger 10 22 a few years back from my neighbor for 25 dollars on a different note the same neighbor sold me my 1983 isuzu pup diesel for 200 dollars I've been driving it for 5 years

When I was 15 I traded a poster of a dude on a motorcycle with skulls and flames and all that good stuff on it for a JC higgens .22.

bought a bulgarian ak47 milled receiver for $157...then bought some russian slab side 30 round magazines for 10$ each...
got an italian 32 caliber semi auto (I cant remember the brand) for free and sold it for $350
but a few years ago I bought a mini 14 for 200$, ss and synthetic,,, sold it 1 year later for $225, I was happy then, but now I kick myself... it was the least accurate gun I have ever shot..
and most recently I bought an ar10 for $700 tax included, from a pawn shop... I tried to sell it in 09 for $1k and guys around here said I was NUTS/WAY over priced... F them! I kept it. Now who is happier???

I could have bought a Baby Browning .25 in college for $30 from a buddy. Like a dummy a tried to get him to take $25 and he said no. I believe that jinxed me from ever finding another smoking deal.

My old boss at a gun shop on the east coast let me take home several very large boxes of ammo. Whenever a trade gun came in and had factory ammo with it, it got tossed into the box...probably 20 years worth of ammo piled up in several very large boxes. One day he said, "get that **** outta here, just take it home if you want it". Boxes of black talons, crazy remington 357 loaded with 00 buck, rifle shells, shotgun slugs, you name it, probably 150 pounds of ammo....free. :D

I've shot up a good chunk of it, but still have the Remington 357's with two 00 buck pellets. It's an older looking box, and two rounds are missing, but if anyone here collects unique ammo I'd part with it.

I used to work for AT&T in a Corporate store. They gave us new cell phones every month or so to demo. I had about 6-7 new smart phones that had less than a month of use on them and traded a couple of them for guns on the "other" forum. I ended up with a Savage 110 .270, a P95 9mm, A Mossberg 500 20 gauge and a Ruger .44 Magnum with a 4 5/8" barrel. I traded some of them for different guns but had zero $ invested in any of them. I still have the .270 and 20 Gauge. This was over a period of about six months back in 2006-2007. People were wanting the newest smart phone but were not eligible for an upgrade and sometimes they were cash poor but had guns to trade.
