I'm with you sir.Too many good things out there to eat without stooping to eating tree rats......Shoot those pesky devils and let the coyotes have some easy pickins! Can't help with this one. I don't eat tree rats.
Sounds pretty tasty....
Damn that sounds good, I had to bookmark that one!
Throw 4 or 5 squirrels in a crock pot.(skinned and cleaned)
Add a Couple cans of chicken broth and water to cover the meat, add spice and hot sauce to taste.
Turn on low for a couple hours. Pull squirrels out clean meat off the bone, put meat back in pot. Turn on high. Get a can of biscuits, tear off little chunks and throw in.
Squirrel and dumplins.
That's a huntin camp recipe, nothin fancy. Just easy and good.Canned biscuits? Are you serious?
I use a pressure cooker to boil mine.
When the pressure regulator starts to chatter, another 18 minutes and the squirrel will still be whole, but the meat will pull right off the bone.
Lots of black pepper.
I like to take the little young fellows and marinade in Italian dressing, then slow grill on a charcoal grill.
