When did you/do you plan to take SS?

I started at 62 and have been drawing 3 years and I’m glad I did but I have a decent pension also

Started at 65 1/2 got a good bit more by that and with my retirement ira’s and dividends and nest egg too.

I’m 65, haven’t applied yet,as it is now, my wife’s and mine taxes would be so high if I got ss, it’s close to worthless to me!..The taxes on my taxes are too high?

I found out not to long ago the Social Security is counted as Taxable income, I'm like WTF, I'm paying allot in Taxes now, so if me and my wife and can take our Social Security we will be in a higher tax bracket, I will be 62 in 16 months. My wife still has 3yrs to go.

SS IS taxable income, however it can be negated....IF your reported income is low enough.....have to keep your REPORTED income down!!! It's on a scale, depending on your income.....up the full amount, or next to nothing....

My Dad waited till he was 70. He wound up retroing back to 65

You don’t have to pay State tax on Social Security just Federal. But if you plan on working and drawing at 62 even up to your full benefit of retirement(mine is 66 & 6 months, be careful it can hurt you if you make over your required amount and they will penalize your social security check until it’s paid back.

Wife and I both started at 62...I actually retired at 60 drawing my pension.
Longevity is not a thing in my family...I'm 70 now and turn 71 next month.
I'm the oldest in my family.
Thankfully we haven't had to dip into our 401K or investments yet. Gonna hate when required withdrawals kick in
