When is a firearm considered to be "loaded" here in GA

So who thinks that under the GA hunting regs a gun is "loaded" if the magazine is out of it, but that magazine, not attached to the gun in any way, but just kept nearby, is itself loaded?
A loaded magazine does not make for a loaded gun , unless the magazine is IN the gun.
Duh. Does anybody doubt that's how the law is supposed to be applied? Isn't it perfectly clear that's what they meant, and any other construction of those words would be absurd, ridiculous?

I was alluding to any legal difference between keeping a loaded vs an unloaded firearm behind the back seat of a crew cab say in the case of a LE search, probable cause or not.

Your home, your motor vehicle, at your place of business, or on your own property-- those are 4 kinds of places where you don't need a GWL to carry / possess a gun, even a handgun, openly carried or concealed. Instantly accessible or secured and put away. Fully loaded, partially loaded, or whatever.

Outside of a Wildlife Management Are, and unless you're driving around back roads slowly with your windows down and shining a spotlight in the woods and fields.... you can have that gun in any level of readiness you like.

many thanks, there is nothing like a straight answer

"you might as well just leave it at home"

Sure, fat lot of good it does there. Hundreds of glock NDs could have been prevented had the owners practiced Israeli carry instead of "shoot myself bubba" carry because, ya know, you neva know.

This level of ignorance is astounding. The firearm doesn’t have a brain, or will. People who are incompetent with any tool or equipment will blame the object of their rage rather than the lack of knowledge of handling said gear.

Uncle mike holsters don’t count. If your leather or nylon holster gets inside the trigger guard while reholstering that’s a user error for picking bad equipment.

Why not? If you are carrying a gun for protection and it's not ready for immediate action then you might as well just leave it at home. Sort of like waiting to put your seat belt on until you slam on the brakes. It's a very false sense of security.

Agree with you, Cadcom. Deputy Sheriff-Reserve 10+ years.
