Where did I go wrong?

The most important thing you can do is get over this despair that you have in you. I have not been overly successful in a lot of things I have tried. The most important thing you can do is look for and appreciate the good things you have in your life. I bet there are a lot more than you realize. I would like to have a lot more money and stuff. My life is GOOD. You need to develop a sense of self worth and feel confident when you look someone in the eye and convey that you are worth what you are asking. I have seen a lot of people working at Micky Dee's that have more potential than some CEOs but not near the self esteem. Don't tell me you can't do that it is repetition.
Good Luck!

There's a Federal Penitentiary in Atlanta (USP Atlanta). Possessing a degree and being a vet would result in additional rating points for employment as a Correctional Officer. I believe they start out as GS-5/6, which is around $35-40 a year. You can also purchase your military time back and add it to your FERS retirement. Once you've gotten off probation and your wife is ready to leave Georgia, there are 119 institutions across the country (including Hawaii and Puerto Rico) that you could try to relocate to. Or not.

Sandy Springs PD is looking for help. I also know of another security company that's looking for PI's and other jobs to fill. If you are interested, PM me and I will get you hooked up with them. Good luck and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE to our country.

I have a friend it Texas, he make 80k plus a year as a welder. Good chance college may have been a waste.

never a waste but your ability to get a good paying job does depend on your area of focus. not sure what poli-sci majors are supposed to do after college.

what is it that you want to do with your degree? what kind of a job are you looking for that you cant find?

Try tempt agencies. Early this yr I started at a ge machine shop. I started the week of my 21st birthday at $15/hr. While I'm not going to say there are a million opportunities like that, there is no reason a well posed person such as yourself can't get something with at least 40 hrs attached to it. The other people I was hired with literally can not sign their name or add or subtract decimals with a calculator. They also just hired even less qualified people to change out all the coolant in the machines(switching brands). I was stuck in sub 8 dollars too long, but don't give up what you have, and certainly keep looking

If you haven't already, give your cv a refresher. Have someone else look it over and see how you can polish it.

Quite often it will be a year or more before they actually hire based on an announcement. It was 14 months for my daughter and she had forgotten she applied. Stick to it and be patient...
