Whole house water filtration system recommendations? House is on city water.

Do you have any before and after test results showing how well that system does at filtering and what it filters?
Any water softener that uses Ion exchange resin and salt will remove/reduce dissolved minerals & metals in the water, and the list of what granulated activated carbon can remove/reduce goes well beyond what you will find in city water here in the USA.

Keep in mind that you do not want a whole house system that makes ultra pure water for general purpose household use, that is money down the drain.

I am on well water... the well feeds two dwellings.
I have a high flow acid neutralizer that elevates the pH, a high flow softener with carbon mixed in that removes dissolved minerals, metals, tastes, odors & chemicals, plus a large high flow UV light for disinfection. I am lucky that Iron and what normally accompanies it is not a problem with this well.

Whole House / point of entry water quality improvement is not cheap if done correctly.
It's best to avoid inexpensive small cartridge filters and heavily marketed expensive 'brand name' systems.

I'm looking for a system that is:
Affordable
Filters the water to NSF standards
Filters without cutting down on water pressure
Filtration lasts a reasonably long time depending on usage
Cost of replacement filters and filtration media is reasonable

I don't want to be replacing filters or media every 3 months with filters and media that cost $200 to $400 apiece.

Reverse Osmosis is the only system that will remove flouride and just about everything else in the water.
Most municipality water plants would love to not put Floride in the water. It only takes getting it on the next election ballot and then spend a few mins explaining why they don't want it added.
I'm hoping to get it discontinued in my town.

I am on county water. Seems to be pretty good. Got a Berkey for drinking.
