Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan 454 Casull 45 Colt Stainless 2 1/2"

I just checked out some completed auctions on GB, and noticed these things went for some crazy money. Granted, some auctions were a little realistic (but still on the high side), but others approached $2K.

Last I checked they are still making these, or at least I think they are?

Another consequence of defunding the police is the cutbacks to animal control and fish and game departments. The world wide bear syndicate has realized this is their time to act and take back what they view is theirs. Arm up now at all cost or it'll be us sleeping in caves for the winter.....

It’s been that way for years. I’ve watched them and they can be had from $800 on up. I would see them on here on occasion and have bought and sold them. Cool revolver, built like a tank, but heavy as a tank!!! The other couple calibers are usually less desirable.

They were $999.99 used 5 years ago I think. Gimme a second to find the old thread if it still around..

Like anything else in the firearms world, the price goes up when you can't just walk into the store any buy one.

Sure, Ruger is still making them, but I doubt the production numbers are very high even in normal times. And I'm positive niche guns like that are taking a back seat to production of more mainstream revolver lineups. The Ruger CEO said they would be doing that in an interview on Gun Talk Radio recently.

Ive owned one in 44mag. Surprisingly less felt recoil than Id imagined. And I dont think the 454 or 480 is going to make that much difference above 44 mag against a grizzly or an urban sasquatch buck. And ammo is easier to find. Just my .02.

I would be interested in seeing the ballistics out of a 2.5 inch barrel. unless it is a contact shot a 44 may be close in energy

I recently looked and was set back at auction prices...

I’m a Casull Alaskan owner and I have two, one Guide’s Choice chest holster by Diamond D Leather in Alaska... and more ammo than I’ll ever shoot...

I could be enticed to sell... with a fair offer...

I have one box with no papers and one box with papers, lock and casing...

I looked for two years to find one... it was posted here I called 30 minutes later and was the 16th caller... I told him I’d pay the asking price and would drive to him, several hours away... others were offering trades... I was offering cash and pickup on his schedule...

The second one was listed here a month later and was a trade gun... We traded a Desert Eagle .50 AE and and a few other things... I figured I’d go ahead and buy it also, since it was there... and I had waited so long to find the first one...

The years we were looking for these, I’d head to the Ruger booth at the NRA Show... I’d ask why this gun was so hard to find...

The answer was they are bought as fast as they build them...
