You pretty much had to beg someone to spend $120 on one of these just thee years ago, now they are $600 in gun stores and $300 at least on trader websites....what gives?

No idea, I bought one at the $85 mark many years ago, nicely made, interesting gun. All down to supply and demand, (but it doesn't mean they're selling at that price).

Yeah glade I got my 3 when I did. but I wouldnt pay more then 150 for one unless it is a true long rifle that had never met bubba. I paid 120 shipped each with bayonet 5-6 years ago.

Simple answer: Colorado/Newtown.

These dried up right after those shootings happened, and the prices haven't been the same since. I still have one I purchased from AIM for $95+fees. I believe that was their last price on those, and everyone just bought them the hell up after the panic started.

I saw one at my LGS for $389 with a bunch of ammunition. It finally sold. Thought about selling it to keep the ammo and sell the stripper clips but never pulled the trigger.
