Lots of ideas to borrow from here. I just watched this yesterday and I am thinking minimal range but superior stopping power is the order of the day. You are in defensive mode so just need to clear a path to get to a spot and then defend that position.
For that I am skipping the .50 and handguns all together. I am going with an AA-12 and a grenade launcher with a drum mag.
