I like double/single action hammer fired guns better. I also like metal frames better than plastic. They both feel more robust to me. That's mostly just a feeling because there are plenty of striker fired polymers that are just as reliable. In the end if you mean simple. I have to admit that...
Check to see if the one you are looking at is 9mm or 40 if it matters to you. I've noticed several well priced 92's in shops. They are almost always .40, not that there's anything wrong with that if you like that sort of thing.
Ar-15. 6.5 grendel will do anything a .308 can do out to about 800 and close out to 1000. If I need more gun than that. I'm reaching for a bolt in something bigger.(actually probably just done. I'm not that good)
Yeah. Not going the supressor route. Probably just going to look for another option altogether unless something comes up or I have chance to try it out first. I do appreciate all the input. The season is almost over. Probably just build her a 6.5 upper like the one I use but lighter.
Thanks for all the information. She currently runs plugs and muffs with supersonic rifle. I don't want her to hear a permanent buzz like I do(non-firearm related injury). I see the disadvantage of 300 sub ammo but hope it would be outweighed by safer sound levels. I always worry she might not...
Thanks buddy. Do you know how much barrel length matters. I read that all the powder is burned in just under 8 inches. She likes the ar pistols for hunting. She has no problem keeping her shots within 100 yards. Most will be 50 or less.
Either bolt or gas. If bolt is quieter. I may build a .300 upper without a gas port. A bolt gun would be nice but an ar suits her. Would be nice to find an inexpensive bolt gun in her size but I haven't seen it yet.
Curious as to how loud this round is without a supressor? Would you say it is like a .22 sub or more like a .45 sub. Not really looking to use it without hearing protection. I've got a 10 year old daughter that likes to hunt. Having to wear the bulky muffs to protect her ears causes cheek weld...
Ahhh yes. My first case was m2 surplus in enblocs in the bandoleers. Can't even buy the enblocs for what I paid for the whole case now. Still have half of it. The first ammo panic wasn't long after. I gaurd it jealously.
A Steyr. Hammer fired with a decocker or at least no safety. I love the grip profile and sights. Just don't like the striker. Too happy with my CZ triggers.
