...well the Enfield market sure isn't going anywhere fast LOL! Or maybe I'm out of line with my prices...
Anyways - my friend wants to put two rifles up for sale - an H&R Garand and a sweet M1 carbine, both purchased by his dad years ago from the CMP. Thought I'd mention it to you Garand nuts...
Are you sure? Even the No.1 MkIII's were used in WWII. I'm not trying to be a butt ... I'm just trying to trick you into showing us a pic of your Enfield :becky:
That makes me feel better! Oh well ...
Someone has fairly good barrels for them (Numrich?) - around $130 - but the issue is finding someone who can properly change it :(
Yeah honestly I have to leave it 303...but only because I have the option of reloading, etc.
Scout if you get the bug and wanted to play with the 54r conversion (which sounds interesting!) I could put you in a decent rig that I was in the very early stages of turning into a L42 clone - so the...
$211...a bit more than I wanted to pay for a spotter, but then given its condition I thought it was fair. Then when I thought it was a Parker Hale or similar it would have been a great deal!
Well this is what I get for being preoccupied and not looking close enough at an auction
At first I looked past the fact it was sporterized because I saw what excellent shape it was in - paint, etc., so I bid on it. Well, obviously I won.
AFTER winning the auction, I looked at it closer...
Do you notice if the jam is happening on the left or right side? I.e. the mag is double-stack - if you are loading 10 rounds each time you are always starting from the left side (if memory serves me right). If this is the case, take one round out so you are starting with the opposite side. If...
A confession. My name is Don, and I'm addicted to Enfield Rifles.
-No. 4 Mk 1/2 (ROF) (was my fathers - he sporterized - I restocked back to original - pictured below)
-No. 1 Mk III BSA w/ Patt 1917 bayonet
-No. 4 Mk 1* Savage (US Property) w/ Savage bayonet
-No. 5 Jungle Carbine
-No. 2 Mk 1*...
Very nice Stevens-Savage! Don't worry that it's not "British" - lots of history behind that whole deal.
Having "un-bubba'd" one myself - it will cost you a bit of money if you do decide to do it. I think I spent around $350 on NOS furniture to get mine back to original, but it was a journey...
Yeah - honestly I took a small break from looking because I was seeing some unreasonable prices. Some are still there though - to be fair. I feel I got an excellent deal on the Enfield No. 5 I just picked up - I guess I was totally surprised after looking at the history and seeing the guy was...
I posted a C&R for sale on the forum here (one you rarely see, great caliber, at a good price) and haven't gotten a hit yet! I know it's Christmastime and all, but on some other rifles I was looking at (and one that I purchased) I noticed they were on here for months. The one I purchased...
All the "experts" I've dealt with ... specifically for Enfields (Brian Dick who is a highly regarded "expert" on Enfields) ... highly recommended ammonia (janitor strength), water, a green pad, and sunlight. Honestly I've only used this method once and it worked well to get the old oil build up...
