Might need to check eBay or Gunbroker for just the firing pin, or might be able to modify something. I had one of these rifles a few years ago and APEX had the parts I needed to get it working right. Nice trainer rifles.
Colt did a lot of business with Astra. Astra manufactured the Colt Junior until the 1968 Gun control Act.
Also, good to hear about the Astra being fixed. I've always loved these Spanish guns but they can be a trip to work on. Especially the Ruby's.
Good luck. These old things are a pain in the ass if there ever was such a thing. Prepare for hours of cursing and throwing stuff around.
The hardest part will be reassembling the trigger mechanism without breaking something or doing it incorrectly and having a gun that doesn't shoot or where...
Black Bull. I've used it for projects around the house - guns and others. Does the job well.
Edit: Now I feel like an idiot. This is like 8 months old. :(
So I had this Zastava M85 lying around. Bought it last year. Fun gun but I broke the wood gas tube cover trying to rig a rail on a while back, because I do stupid things sometimes when I'm bored. I didn't like the base Yugo furniture anyway, so I did something about it.
Purchased...
I think there's a lesson to be learned.
I wouldn't take my Hummer H3 to a Mercedes specialist, and one probably shouldn't take a brand new semi-automatic handgun to what sounds like a revolver/cowboy action specialist. Now, of course, the guy should have told you he couldn't do the work right...
Problem: I wanted a foregrip on my 10/22 without paying a bunch of money for one of those crappy looking quad rails, buying some custom stock, or buying one of those ProMag barrel bands.
Solution: Improvise.
One set of Allen wrenches. One PSA $5.99 vertical foregrip. One screwdriver. One MOE...
Thank you. I guess this weekend I'll put this piece of donkey crap back together. Thought about buying some rhinestones on eBay and sticking them on the slide and frame to bedazzle it out.
That's helpful for 90% of the gun but the lower frame was put together with some kind of space magic.
YouTube videos unfortunately seem to cover field stripping but not a detailed strip to bare frame. That's what I get for thinking a gold spray painted Hi Point would be a fun conversation...
Anyone have instructions on how to reassemble a Hi Point C9 from a stripped frame? A "project" got a little out of hand and I can't figure out how to get all of this crap to stay together and I don't feel like sending it in to Hi Point.
Any help would be appreciated.
Jim Stroh was a craftsman but he's retired last I read. Guns & Gear in Lavonia does full-service gunsmithing but I've never had anything done by them.
I don't think Dan's / LA Armory does gunsmithing, but I might be wrong. I think there's still a guy in Royston or Hartwell that does...
